Seminar: Computational Methods for Cell Identity and Cell-fate Decisions

On June 10, 2025, the Laboratory of Data Discovery for Health (D²4H) and the School of Biomedical Sciences at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) co-organised a seminar titled “Computational Methods for Cell Identity and Cell-fate Decisions.”

We were honoured to host Pengyi Yang, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the School of Mathematics & Statistics at The University of Sydney and Co-Principal Investigator of the D24H, who shared his team’s pioneering work on computational methodologies that leverage single-cell omics and spatial transcriptomics data. His talk gave insights into how these tools are being used to uncover molecular networks that underlie cell identity and predict cell-fate outcomes, offering powerful new perspectives in developmental biology and disease modelling.
We extend our sincere thanks to all participants for joining us and contributing to a successful and thought-provoking seminar. Stay tuned for more updates from us.
